Emotional Intelligence Made Simple for Children

What is A’o’K?

A’o’K is a caring and inspiring organisation that helps children understand and manage their emotions.

We believe every child can become emotionally smart when guided with compassion, patience, and fun learning tools.

At A’o’K we help children to cope with their emotional challenges.

Emotions are the feelings children experience every day, such as happiness, love, fear, anger, sadness, and surprise. These emotions are natural and universal, but without guidance, children often struggle to understand what they feel or how to respond in healthy ways to different situations and people.

Emotional intelligence (EQ) teaches children how to recognise their emotions, manage strong feelings, and understand how their actions affect others. When children learn EQ skills, they become better at calming themselves, communicating their needs, solving problems, and building positive relationships with peers and adults.

Emotional intelligence training is essential because children are not born knowing how to handle emotions—they must be taught. By developing EQ from a young age, children gain lifelong skills that help them succeed at school, form healthy friendships, handle challenges with confidence, and grow into emotionally healthy, resilient adults. We at A’o’K commit ourselves to teach children from Grade 1 to 12 about challenges so they can have a life of fulfilment.

Bring A'o'K to Your School!

Getting started with A’o’K is simple and supportive:

1. Express Your Interest

Your school decides to introduce the A’o’K programme as part of its learner development journey.

An A’o’K representative will connect with you to help select the most suitable grade(s) and explain the costs involved.

A’o’K provides a two-hour teacher training seminar, included in the cost per learner. During this seminar, educators will:

    • First session: The teachers of the grade involved will discover their identities and their role in their personal emotional development

    • Second session: They will gain insight into the root causes of challenging learner behaviour

    • Third session: they will receive hands-on training in using the A’o’K programme materials

Before the A’o’k lessons begin, we will conduct an emotional intelligence assessment with the learners.

The first learner session is facilitated by an A’o’K representative to ensure a smooth and confident start.
